Sofia Helbing

Sofia assists both private individuals and corporate clients. She assists in procedures related to family migration, and advises on the possible retention of a right of residence after the termination of a relationship. She also assists private individuals with obtaining a residence permit as a self-employed person, or a permanent residence permit. In addition, she advises both large companies and small businesses on residence permit applications for highly skilled workers.

In 2023, Sofia was sworn in as an attorney. She joined Everaert Advocaten in 2021, after having completed a student internship at the firm during her master’s.

Sofia studied Law with a specialization in Juvenile Law at the University of Amsterdam, Leiden University and the North-West University in South Africa. During her master’s she focused on the rights of children in the context of migration.

Before starting her work at Everaert, she gained work experience at the Court of Amsterdam and gave out legal advice at the Kinder- en Jongerenrechtswinkel Amsterdam.
