Before joining Everaert in 2019, Lotte worked in the administration of justice on cases in the field of immigration and asylum law, and (international) criminal law. She was also involved in Rule of Law projects in the former Yugoslavia, where she was deployed with the European Union.

In her practice, Lotte mainly assists private individuals, especially in matters related to family reunification. In particular, she provides assistance to persons with a dependent right of residence who wish to qualify for an independent right of residence after the ending of a relationship and/or because of exceptional circumstances such as having been the victim of domestic violence.

Lotte further assists migrant and self-employed workers, especially in the music and art sectors, as well as companies wishing to bring foreign workers to the Netherlands.

Due to her experience in the field of criminal law, Lotte can also provide thorough advice and assistance in procedures regarding aspects of public order, entry bans and employer sanctions under the Aliens Employment Act.

Lotte completed a Master’s degree in Public International Law with a minor in International Relations in 2010 at the University of Amsterdam. She speaks fluent Dutch and English.

Netherlands Bar registration

Lotte has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

  • Immigration law

Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
